Membership

VNPP uses regular e-mail updates to provide up-to-the-minute information that is important for providers. Examples include – information related to billing issues, licensing, up-to-date contact information for various state offices, outcomes of committee work and planning efforts, etc.
VNPP Members receive reduced registration fees for staff developent and training offered through the VNPP Training Consortium; information concerning upcoming training is provided to members via e-mail. Members also receive a copy of The Guide to Consent and Substitute Decision Making.
VNPP develops a Legislative Agenda each year and has a registered lobbyist who monitors activity in the Virginia General Assembly and speaks to issues of importance to private providers; both human service funding and legislation and issues which may affect small business are tracked and reported to the membership regularly during the Session. VNPP represents the interests and concerns of its members at wide variety of meetings, committees and commissions which are convened either by the Executive or Legislative Branch of state government or by one of the other organizations representing public providers or advocacy groups. VNPP is a member of ANCOR, the Coalition for Virginians with Mental Disabilities, Healthcare for All Virginians and sits as a partner with the VACSB Public Policy Committee.
Membership Options
Individual – for persons who have an interest in the purposes of the Corporation and wish to stay informed of issues affecting private providers of support for persons who have mental illness, developmental disability or substance use disorder and are licensed by or funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Organizational – for organizations that are private providers of support for persons who have mental illness, developmental disability or substance use disorder and are licensed by or funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. This Membership shall entitle the President, Executive Director or CEO and one other member of the Member’s Board of Directors or staff to the privileges and responsibilities of membership; each of these two individuals shall have one vote on matters presented to the membership for a vote.
